TV habits

I enjoy watching television sometimes, but I don't watch television as much as my friends and family do. The reason for this is because I don't enjoy spending much of my free time indoors stuck in front of a screen. I'd much rather be outside or doing something productive with my free time. During the school semester, I don't have much time for myself since I’m always at school or work, therefore I take advantage of any available opportunity that I get to do something constructive. The only time I watch television is if I’m watching the news with my dad, or if I’m currently into a TV series.
The shows that I enjoy watching the most are One Tree Hill and Pretty Little Liars. Although One Tree Hill is no longer currently airing, I own every season and still watch the episodes from time to time. Pretty Little Liars is still in season and I watch it with my mom every week that it comes on TV. This means that I only dedicate around a few hours a week for television due to my busy schedule and other interests. I watch Channel 9 news with my dad during the evening on the days that I'm off work during dinner time. The only reason I even watch it is because it's convenient and educational, meaning that I can benefit from watching it.
I watch TV mostly during the weekend because it is when I have the most available time to relax and pay attention to the content. I usually watch it in my room where I have peace and quiet, but sometimes I just watch whatever my parents have on the television in our living room. My parents usually have on Fox news or ABC family, so I will be kind of paying attention to it only because it is playing in the room since I’m normally focused on something else like homework. I typically watch shows that keep me in suspense or has characters in the show that I feel that I can relate to. I like to watch soap operas when I’m going through a break-up since I'm emotionally distraught. I like watching mystery shows like Pretty Little Liars because I feel like I am a part of the show since it keeps me guessing and trying to keep up with the clues in the show. The most common TV genre that I watch is Drama which is why my favorite series is One Tree Hill. I enjoy that show the most because I feel similar to the main character and I enjoy all the twists in the show.
The other typical time that I watch the most TV is when I am sick because it involves little productivity and movement. It's hard for me to watch TV if I am doing something like homework, or cleaning because I’m not very good at multitasking. TV is usually more of just background noise for my room, rather than a source of entertainment. Most of my friends and other teenagers spend the majority of their free time in front of a television screen instead of exercising or spending time with others. Ever since I was a kid I was always very active and always felt the need to be being productive. I sometimes will feel guilty for just laying down and watching television because I always know in the back of my mind that I should be doing something else more productive.

The TV networks that I view the most are usually ABC family and the CW. They have the most interesting TV series in my opinion. My family pays for us to have Comcast cable which has a lot of issues that inconveniences our TV viewing. When I end up having to pay for my own cable, I will most likely invest in Bright House since I have heard more positive reviews about it. If I am ever in a financial crisis where I can’t afford cable, I will be fine with just having broadcasting TV to watch the news since TV isn't all that important to me. It won’t really affect my daily routines since I don’t dedicate much time to it anyway, and I could still watch my TV shows online.

My film Habits

My Film Habits

I enjoy watching film whenever I can, whether it’s going out to the movie theater or just playing a movie on Netflix at home. Watching movies is one of my favorite hobbies, and a great way to learn or even just satisfy my viewing pleasure. I have a variety of favorite films that I like to watch, and I enjoy watching the movie after I read the book. Sometimes I feel as though I don’t get to watch as many movies as I would like during the week because of my busy schedule, but I usually get to relax and watch some over the weekend with friends if were enjoying a night in. Movies are a great way to bring people together and to teach a message to an audience.
My favorite movie ever since I was little has always been the film “Toy Story.” It is my favorite movie because I used to make my mom let me watch it over and over again as I was a little kid and it always made me laugh. I like to still watch it because it still makes me laugh and it reminds me of my childhood and makes me feel like a kid again sometimes. I love all kinds of Disney films, and other animated movies that are for kids. I also enjoy scary movies because I love the adrenaline rush that it can give me and the excitement of feelings afraid when watching it. My favorite scary movie is “The shining” since I used to always watch it with my dad when I was younger and he would always laugh at how afraid I would get during the scary parts. Mystery movies are also another of my favorite genre since it keeps me in suspense and keeps me interested during the film since I get to feel like I am part of the story. Romance movies are of course also one of my favorite genres and my favorite romance film is “A walk to remember.” Even though I have watched it hundreds of times, it still manages to make me cry in the end and always teaches me the lesson of to never take anything for granted. I think movies with deep messages are the best films since they can affect members of the audience’s perspective on things and teach those lessons.

The only time I really get the peace and quiet time to watch film is over the weekends at night if I am home and not working. I enjoy nights in with my girlfriends just renting a movie and relaxing. I don’t have too many channels on the TV in my room but I do have a DVD player and a Blu-Ray player so that I can still watch actual movies instead of just the news and other broadcasting shows. I can also use my laptop to watch film on certain websites that I feel are actually safe to watch and download them on. I prefer just watching movies at home for cheaper and more comfortable than going out to the movie theater and spending lots of money.
